Intelsat 4 (IS-4; formerly PAS-4), located at 72 degrees East, experienced an anomaly on 1 February 2010 at approximately 0018 UTC. It was moved into graveyard orbit shortly afterwards. The satellite was expected to reach its end of service life later in 2010.
Former operator PanAmSat stated in November 1998 that "an additional SCP failure has occurred on one of its satellites. The satellite is operating normally" - because it has a backup processor. It was later confirmed that the satellite is PAS-4.
